Tea in the Woods

Today I had a guest speaker in my Fashion Promotion and Sales class and got to see the power of inspiration at its best. Zac Schafer is the creator/owner of the clothing line, Tea in the Woods, and came to share his story and show us some of his brand's merchandise. (Which is totally awesome!) Zac was inspired in 2005 while studying abroad in Spain; this inspiration lead to the creation of Tea in the Woods. Tea in the Woods is mainly a men's wear line but has plans to grow and produce women's wear. Their merchandise consists of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and board shorts; retailing between $20-$30 and sweatshirts just under $50. Based in Costa Mesa, the line incorporates artistic graphic designs and foreign language text design. They have really cool events that revolve around the art and music scene, such as ceramic shows and "underground" concerts. Overall I thought Tea in the Woods was a great clothing company to write about because it is a perfect example of someone getting inspired and going with it. Zac's whole career path has been altered and something has been created out of a great experience, in his case studying abroad in beautiful Spain. It is still a small company and if anyone out there has any resources for them I am sure they would love for you to reach out. Their contact information can be found on the website: http://teainthewoods.com
