Music: The Black Keys

The Black Keys are one of my favorite bands. I have had the pleasure of seeing them twice already; the first time was August 2011 at Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco and then just recently this past weekend at Coachella Music Festival in Indio. They are brilliant musicians with so much soul, which is what music is all about.

Falling Whistles Yet Again

I absolutely love this company. As I've mentioned before, Falling Whistles is a non-profit organization that's dedicated to spreading the word by launching a campaign for peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo and for the freedom of the young soldiers abducted from their homes and forced into the frontlines. 100% of the proceeds go toward the restoration of the lives of war-affected children through rehabilitation programs and stateside advocacy! If you missed my previous post, you can find it here.

I recently went to the MAGIC Trade Show in Las Vegas and attended a seminar called Impact Your Fashion World: Action = Creativity. Sean Carasso, the CEO and founder of Falling Whistles, was the guest speaker and I cannot even describe to you how cool of a person he is. He is energetic, passionate, and down-to-earth. I felt incredibly inspired, walking out of the seminar with a smile on my face and new ideas running through my mind.

At PROJECT, I stopped by their booth and I finally got my very own whistle! I am now officially a Whistleblower for Peace in the Congo! You can buy a whistle too! (*They're coming out with some new ones soon! Be on the lookout!) They have some pretty sweet posters too.

#10

I miss you everyday.
You are a thought that constantly runs through my mind.
Sometimes it feels like a disease I can't find the cure for,
and other times I wouldn't want to.
I am Me, just like He is You.
But I wonder if it will ever be... Me and You.

Patience is something I know quite well,
considered a practiced skill.
But trust me, I won't wait around forever.
Because I will always be Me even if my life doesn't include
You.

TRASHed Coachella 2012 Submissions

So there is this extremely exciting contest going on... Global Inheritance and Coachella Music & Arts Festival are teaming up once again to do the TRASHed exhibit. 50 artists will be chosen to design a 65 gallon recycling bin for the Coachella festival 2012 and they will be displayed both weekends. After Coachella, the bins will be donated to local schools in the Coachella Valley. How cool is that?! It's a super fun and creative project and I definitely wouldn't mind winning a Coachella festival pass for the weekend of my choice. The submissions are due tonight. Eeek!

WISH ME LUCK! *crossing my fingers* :]

You're the sweetest thing I ever did see,
but what do you really want from me?
I'm too much, probably not what you need.
Nagging thoughts, oh yes, indeed.
Do what's best for you cause this isn't it.
Constant rhyming so I don't feel like shit.
